The Zalia’s Castle is a fortress sited in Alcaucín Municipal District, in Malaga province (Spain). The castle, today in ruins, is built in front of Alcaucin town, at the otherside of the river with the same name, over a soft hill in the Real Nazarita gully, that was built to connect Granada with Malaga.

This is one of the fortification rest more older tath we knok. It’s posible that this castle was built by the Fenicianm and after rebuilt by the Arabien. The Arabian built the actual castle with a double ring wall, getting a good renown in the cattle, ships and pigs breeding and the cereal farming too. Later, the castle was reconquisted by the Catholic Kings in september of 1485, and this castle was used how a prission.

This reconsquist was possible for an arabian wit christian descendants. This person lived in the castle.

One day, this arabian person went ultill Alhama de Granada, with the purpose to make an date with Gutierrez Padilla, the villa captain. This arabian with his bother’s company was staff of the castle and, how renegades, give his help at the captain Gutierrez to try reconquist the castle. The captain believe tha they said and got ready fast with some knights and stomed the walls at night. When the arabian traitorous said the password and the arabian soldiers opened the door, comming into the castle and won this little war.

Unafortunatelly, the arabian renegade was tied the hands of and was droped from a merlon and the main square was, other time, reconquisted by the spanish soldier
